Acts 21

Theme of chapter: Paul continues his journey to Jerusalem where he knows he will be bound and mistreated. He stops a few times along the way to greet and check up on places he has had ministry work in.

Most important verse: Acts 21:13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

Most prominent word: chief captain (military officer; commander)

Teaching about Christ: Christ directs the lives and leads those who follow him.

Command to obey: whether you circumcise or don't, eat something or don't, doesn't count you more worthy unto God, only faith in Jesus Christ.

Promise to claim: It will always cost you something to follow Christ.

New truth learned: Paul, through the Holy Spirit, knows what awaits him in Jerusalem, and yet him being obedient to Christ journeys on to Jerusalem. An angry mob who'd like to kill him awaits him there.
