1 Samuel 23

Theme of chapter: Saul continues to pursue David in attempt to destroy him. David and his men stay one step ahead of him.

Most important verse: 1 Samuel 23:13 Then David and his men, which were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went whithersoever they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he forbare to go forth.

Most prominent word: haunt (foot; by extension)

Teaching about Christ: Christ protects David from Saul and from the Philistines.

Command to obey: Seek the Lords counsel on all matters.

Promise to claim: In the will of God is a safe place to be.

New truth learned: Saul just keeps on and on, he is obsessed with killing David and continues to hunt him down like a dog.
