Acts 19

Theme of chapter: Paul continues his missionary journey to the west. Many are saved and baptized, and he gains many more Jewish enemies.

Most important verse: Acts 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Most prominent word: divers (someone; any; certain)

Teaching about Christ: John the Baptist had a baptism of repentance for the one coming. Jesus Christ's baptism is one of salvation that brings on the holy spirit.

Command to obey: do not believe on Gods made of hands(money, power, possessions, etc.), but on the true living God, Jesus Christ.

Promise to claim: Attack a mans person, religion or reputation, you might not get a response, but if you attack a mans wallet you'll get a retaliation.

New truth learned: The Jewish leaders dogged after Paul everywhere he went. Preaching about Christ and the gospel brought the ire out of them and they sought to destroy him and any others like him.
