Theme of chapter: Saul is anointed king by Samuel and presented to the people of Israel as the king that wanted as they turned their backs on God.

19 And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands. Most prominent word: psaltery (water jar; jug; pot)
Teaching about Christ: Christ forgives all the sins of his children.
Command to obey: Don't let past sins affect how you live your life now, or what you can accomplish now.
Promise to claim: God can turn something meant for evil to something good.
New truth learned: Israel is getting their wish now, Saul is presented as their king.
