Judges 10

Theme of chapter: The cycle continues of the people of Israel turning to idols, God judging them, and them crying out to God for deliverance.

Most important verse: Judges 10:16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

Most prominent word: tribulation (trouble; distress; calamity)

Teaching about Christ: Christ forgives the repentant sinner.

Command to obey: do not worship false Gods and idols.

Promise to claim: the flesh is weak. left unto itself will sin to great depths.

New truth learned: the people of Israel just can't seem to learn their lesson. Over and over they cycle through this rebellion, judgement, repentance, salvation. The Judges that are raised up are the basest of men with no real upstanding qualities, but God uses them anyway. Much like our rulers today, the very basest of men.
