Joshua 23

Theme of chapter: Joshua is getting old, and he speaks to the leaders of Israel one last time.

Most important verse: Joshua 23: 11 Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God.

Most prominent word: cleave (keep; hold fast; cling to)

Teaching about Christ: Christ is our salvation and place of refuge

Command to obey: Love the Lord your God.

Promise to claim: You are at great peril when rebelling against God.

New truth learned: Joshua new the human condition. He warned the people of Israel, that as soon as they went after other Gods and didn't keep the word of God, that judgement would come to them and they would be vomited out of the promised land.
