Deuteronomy 30

Theme of chapter: Unconditional promise by God, that the people of Israel will return to their land in the latter day, and will also return to God and repent.

Most important verse: Deuteronomy 30:2 And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; (God is speaking prophetically here that the people of Israel "shalt" not "if" return to God and also to their land)

Most prominent word: return (to go back)

Teaching about Christ: When Jesus returns the promised land will be restored.

Command to obey: Stay in the Word and flee from sin.

Promise to claim: In the latter day, the Jews will return to Israel and the land will be restored. (God hasn't forgotten about Israel)

New truth learned: The people of Israel bounce back and forth through scripture in obeying God and then turning away. In the end, when Christ returns, they will obey God and have a heart for God, and despise all sin.
