Deuteronomy 27

Theme of chapter: Announcing the blessings and curses that would occur for breaking laws of God.

Most important verse: Deuteronomy 27:1 And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day. (the people of Israel were to continue to be under law once in the promised land)

Most prominent word: plaister (lime; plaster; used as whitewash)

Teaching about Christ: Christ is holy and his commandments are holy and just.

Command to obey: Strive to be physically and spiritually pure.

Promise to claim: Disobeying God brings chastisement to the believer and judgement to the lost.

New truth learned: The people of Israel were continually under the heavy weight of the law, that no one except Jesus could ever obey completely.
