Deuteronomy 18

Theme of chapter: God speaks about the Levites being set aside and holy unto the service of God. Warns the people about dabbling in the occult. And finally, speaks about the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Most important verse: Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. (Speaking of the first coming of Jesus Christ)

Most prominent word: prophet (a person who speaks a message from God to the people.)

Teaching about Christ: This chapter speaks of the coming of Christ who is in the perfect will of the Father, performing every task that is set for him to do. The most important being to die for you and me on the cross.

Command to obey: In Moses day the people had to be wary of false prophets, in the New Testament world we have to be wary of false teachers. Study the Word to be able to discern.

Give to people and/or organizations that faithfully give out the Word of God.

Promise to claim: Those who respond to Word of Christ shall be saved.

New truth learned: The occult was live and well back in Moses era, and God warned his people against it.
