Theme of chapter: Jesus heals a blind man, who is presented to the Pharises. They can't deny a miracle happened, but the still have no belief in Jesus.
Most important verse: John 9:39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. (Jesus came to save the lost, not the righteous.)
Most prominent word: Siloam (sent; this is the pool Jesus instructed the blind man to wash the clay he had annointed his eyes with off at. when he did he could then see)
Teaching about Christ: Christ came to save the lost. He made the self-righteous blind to spiritual things.
Command to obey: Believe on Christ for sight. Many are blind in there sin and don't give a whip about it.
Promise to claim: Christ is the light of the world. He's not a way to heaven, or the best way to heaven, he is the only way.
New truth learned: The Pharises were as hard hearted and stubborn as you can get. Even with the evidence of the miracles performed by Jesus, which were many. The Pharises still would not believe and grew more hateful toward him with each passing day. And these folks were supposed to be in touch with God, all they had were worldly traditions and ceremony, their hearts far away from God.
