Joshua 13

Theme of chapter: Joshua is now very old. Israel's fighting is over, and Joshua is left to divide the land amongst the tribes.

Most important verse: Joshua 13:1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.(although all of 300,000 square miles was given to them by God, they only ever possess about 30,000 square miles of it)

Most prominent word: possessed (to be an heir; gain an inheritance)

Teaching about Christ: Christ uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things for the kingdom of God

Command to obey: Lay hold of the possessions God has given through Christ.

Promise to claim: God always gives in abundance.

New truth learned: Israel never possessed all the land that was given to them by God.
